The Story of the
Nezzie Foundation

Our
Story

Renee Fox discovered the Live-Action Role Playing (LARP) community in mid-2017 as an outdoor recreational activity for her teenage son. Soon, her family became deeply involved in every aspect of the new found hobby and joined the local chapter of a long standing LARP called Dagorhir.

She realized there was something special about these groups and the way people from vastly diverse backgrounds came together to truly create a world of their own.

Combining a long-held passion for an idea to bring people more into nature began to take on a different shape than prior incarnations. What if she could fuse this idea with the LARP community and create a special place for both LARP related and nature-based events?

Thus the Nezzie Foundation was born.

Our Mission

Our Mission

Our mission is to to create safe spaces for Live Action Role Play (LARP) for persons with different disabilities.  A Live Action Role Playing game is a form of roleplaying where the participants physically portray characters.  The players pursue goals within a fictional setting represented by the real world while interacting with each other in character.  Play may be game-like or a more dramatic or artistic expression.

Nezzie Foundation Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organized to support and promote the vast and diverse LARP communities in the United States.

We believe in the healing power of nature and spending time with one’s community, and will not only host LARP events through Nezzie Foundation, but will also create programs to give disabled and disadvantaged children an opportunity to experience the great outdoors.
